Parents Association

PS 163 has an active PA, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the PS 163 parent community. Every parent or guardian of a child currently enrolled at PS 163 is automatically a member of the PA.

The mission of the PS 163 PA is to improve the quality of education for every child in the school. The PA is responsible for enlisting volunteers to staff school events, for the school and communicating issues and news to the PS 163 community raising funds.

A current copy of the PA by-laws is available in the PA mailbox (in the school office, bottom row of mailboxes) and is posted at ps163nyc@yahoogroups.com. All PA general membership, executive board, and committee meetings take place at the school and are open to the entire school community. Elections are held at the end of the school year for the next school year. Regulations for PTAs can be found in the “Blue Book,” Chancellor’s Regulation A660.
